Biography

Isaiah Tolo is the fish health supervisor at the MNDNR, overseeing a fish pathology laboratory and serving as the fish health program manager for the State of Minnesota. His research has primarily centered on pathogens of freshwater fishes, placing a particular emphasis on molecular diagnostics. His current work spans a diverse range of topics, incorporating elements of water quality, environmental health, fisheries management, and fish pathology. 

In his current research project, funded by LCCMR through MAISRC, Isaiah aims to develop straightforward molecular diagnostic assays for health inspections of cold and cool water fishes. The focus is on identifying fish pathogens that hold regulatory significance for the State and are listed as invasive microbes by MAISRC.
