Biography

Dr. Chan Lan Chun is a Professor of Civil and Environmental at the University of Minnesota Duluth and Principal Researcher at Natural Resources Research Institute with a focus on water quality and ecosystem health in freshwater. Her research with the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center focuses on development of various eDNA methods for early detection of multiple aquatic invasive species (AIS). Previously she worked on microbial interactions with AIS such as zebra mussel and Eurasian water milfoil. She teaches courses in water chemistry, environmental microbiology and biotechnology, environmental remediation technologies and ethics in science, and he co-directs the Water Resources Science Graduate Program at the University of Minnesota.
